Located in a Mews in Westminster, the original house was suffering badly from structural movement. Everything behind the front façade was demolished and rebuilt to the client’s requirements.
As a new build in Westminster, it had to be extremely well insulated and well-sealed against draughts, with on-site renewables (PV panels in this case) and a centralised MVHR (mechanical ventilation and heat recover) system.
The house is therefore very economic to run and was designedto be adaptable enough to be suitable for long-term living into old age.
