Langland Gardens, London NW3

Extension and refurbishment

This project involved a full width side and rear extension within a Hampstead Conservation Area. Our clients wanted as much natural daylight as possible and to reconnect the house with the rear garden. An existing basement was lowered to provide additional naturally lit bedroom accommodation and the side extension houses a large gym to the front and a utility roof to the rear.

Together with a high quality renovation and reconfiguring of the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom, the house now provide a bight contemporary interior that the family are delighted with.

We were lucky enough to have Jeremy Wight as our architect for a large and complex building project recently.  He was fantastic in every respect: a technically very proficient and creative architect, great with the practical aspects of running a complicated project, meticulous, helpful and diplomatic.

He was especially generous with his creativity and troubleshooting skills, in several cases coming up with design solutions for sticking points, which would otherwise have occasioned lengthy delays.

Finally and crucially, he was adept at taking charge of site meetings and follow up with all of the other professionals involved, which in many cases was like herding cats!  He assured the success of the project and we can happily recommend him without reservation.
